LIPA has a new Board of Directors as of July 2016.  The current Chair is Jean Wenger, Deputy Law Librarian of Cook County Law Library in Illinois (pictured below, third from end on right).  All members of the current board are listed here.  Contact any one of us for more information on how you can get more involved!

Thank you to those who were able to join us for the LIPA meeting at AALL. Abbie Grotke, Lead Information Technology Specialist on the Library of Congress Web Archiving Team, and Andrew Weber, Legislative Information Systems Manager in the Law Library of Congress, spoke to the group. Abbie spoke about web archiving generally at the Library of Congress and Andrew spoke about the Law Library’s role in web archiving and the collections that are being archived.  Photo below is of Andrew speaking while Abbie looks on.

Going to Chicago for AALL?  Join us for the LIPA annual business meeting on Sunday, July 17 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm, Hyatt, Michigan AB (East Tower). In addition to the business portion of our meeting, there will be presentations by Abbie Grotke, Lead Information Technology Specialist on the Library of Congress Web Archiving Team, and Andrew Weber, Legislative Information Systems Manager in the Law Library of Congress. Abbie will present on web archiving generally at the Library of Congress and relevant collaborative projects such as the International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) and the web archiving survey. Andrew will talk about the Law Library’s role in web archiving and the collections that are being archived.

Anyone interested in preservation and the work of the Legal Information Preservation Alliance is welcome to attend the meeting.
